New Hampshire is the place to be if you like outdoor (and indoor) activities in the wintertime. Here are some of our favorite suggestions for having a good time during the winter months.
Take a Sleigh Ride
Nothing evokes the warm feelings of romantic and exciting winter thoughts than a winter sleigh ride. Luckily you won’t have to travel too far to endulge in this time honored mode of travel. Just outside of downtown Manchester in Candia NH you will find Charmingfare Farm. Every winter they host family friendly sleigh rides with Santa Claus. The ride takes you through the woods to a cozy fire where Santa will serve hot cocoa and cookies to all the kids. View lighted trees, sing carols and enjoy the season on this winter adventure. Charmingfare Farm also hosts romantic sleigh rides for couples.
Go on a Holiday House Tour
The winter season is a time for mantels strung with glowing lights, ornaments sprinkled throughout the home, and smiling Santas that encourage good spirits and believing. Getting ideas to decorate your apartment can be achieved by visiting Nashua for the Friends of Symphony New Hampshire's Holiday House Tour. Local families offer up their homes to be magnificently decorated (both inside and out) all in the spirit of the season. How does it work? Holiday House Tour goers must provide their own transportation, but may walk through the homes at their own pace. They may move on to the next destination whenever they would like (within the time frame set by Symphony New Hampshire) and in no particular order. It is a very causal, yet personal experience! It's a wonderful way to put yourself in the holiday spirit.Tickets are available at local Nashua shops or on their website.
Build a Snowman
Winter won’t last forever-so while there’s time get out there and roll some snow! Snowmen are not only a blast to make, but also a festive yard decoration. Your neighbors will love seeing your creations! To make it a little easier to accessorize your frozeb friend places like Bed Bath and Beyond carry snowmen kits fully packed with all of your snowman building needs!
Cozy up on the Couch and Watch Some Holiday Movies
With all the hustle and bustle of the season, sometimes it is nice to just spend some time indoors cozied up on the couch. Grab some cocoa, roast a few marshmallows and turn on the TV set! There are endless options to choose from. Network TV runs the classic holiday favorites, but you can also download one of your most loved movies.
Jack Frost nipping at your nose? What better way to warm up than with freshly baked goodies! .Baking is a great way to spend a winter’s night or day. There’s so many festive treats that are both tasty and easy to make! Your family and friends will love lending a helping hand as you bake too.
