Infused Water: A Healthy Way to Stay Hydrated

Infused Water:  A Healthy Way to Stay Hydrated

Summer is upon us and we should remember to keep hydrated as we pursue outdoor activities on hot days. You can make drinking water more interesting and tasty by making your own infused water. Drinking infused water is a cheap alternative to buying iced teas, sport drinks and bottled water.

Why Drink Infused Water?

We all have heard that drinking water is good for us.  We try to drink 8 glasses a day but it is hard to remember to do.  Drinking lots of water helps keep our bodies hydrated, prevents headaches and helps to keep us energetic.  We have found that by infusing natural flavors into water it makes it more appealing to drink.  Adding fruits, herbs and flavorful veggies helps to make the water more appealing and adds vitamins.  Most importantly these drinks look good and if it looks good we are more likely to drink the water and stay hydrated.

Make Your Own Infused Water

You can make a large batch of infused water, by filling  a pitcher with water, mixing in some chopped up fruits, veggies, and/or herbs. Let it sit for 3-5 hours in your refrigerator.  Pour the infused water over ice and enjoy a delicious and refreshing drink that is healthy.
