New Englander’s are proud folk. Everyone thinks their state is superior. And sure, our nearby neighbors have things to be proud of. Maine has lobsters and lighthouses, Vermont has cheese and Ben and Jerry’s, and I’ve been told Massachusetts probably has something nice (Science Museum maybe?)… However, there is one thing we have in New Hampshire that raises us above our border bros: Happy Hour!
Did you know drink specials are actually illegal in the three states that border us!? Here in Ye Olde Granite Kingdom, discounted drinks can be found everywhere, at all times of the day.
Downtown Manchester, particularly Elm Street, is a bargain boozer’s paradise. One of my favorite spots to get my liquor on the low is at the recently opened Thirsty Moose Taphouse. Located on the corner of Elm and Merrimack at the former home of JW Hills, Thirsty Moose is quickly becoming the place to go for unique beers and yummy food to match.
Thirsty Moose Happy Hours: Monday through Friday 3pm-6pm $1 off all beer plus ½ priced appetizers.
Monday is Flight Night: (my favorite) six 5 oz. pours for 1$ each plus 69 cent house smoked wings all night long! With over 100 ever changing beers to choose from, this is a great inexpensive way to try something new.
Tuesday All Day Happy Hour: $1 off all beers & ½ off apps from open to close.
Wednesday is Taco Night: $4 dollar margaritas, $3 Mexican beers, $2 Tacos (beef, chicken, fish & pork) and $1 Chips & Salsa.
Thirsty Thursday: Featured Brewery Night—free samples and giveaways. Brews for two—1/2 price Bombers.
Sunday Funday & Sin Night: Brunch 10:30 to 3pm—$2 Mimosas & $3 House Bloody Mary’s.
Your Red Oak Apartment in Manchester is not far from the Thirsty Moose.
Have you checked out the Thirsty Moose yet? Do you have a favorite Happy Hour that you’d like to share? Let me know! I’m always on the lookout for discounted drinks!
