Pick Your Christmas Tree, Visit Santa and Snow Tube in NH

Cut Your Own Christmas Tree in Northern New Hampshire

One of the wonders of New Hampshire is the access we have to the great outdoors.  Many folks like to cut down their own Christmas tree for the holidays.  For those who do not celebrate this holiday, it is still fun to get outside and see the woods in New Hampshire and enjoy the fresh air and outdoor activity.

To pick your own tree we suggest The Rocks Estate in Bethlehem, NH.  This location allows you to visit in the fall to tag your tree in the nice weather, and then you can go back later to cut your tree.  This family friendly atmosphere provides a chance to enjoy the outdoors together.  Your tree will be wrapped for transport at their shop too.  While there be sure to visit the gift shop filled with lots of winter themed decorations and speciality food and gift products.  Know that this conservation education center uses the proceeds of your purchase to enhance their programs throughout the year.

If you don't want to travel to northern NH and the town of Bethlehem, there are tree farms that are closer to Southern New Hampshire and your apartment.  You can make it a fun family day by packing some treats to enjoy as you look for the perfect tree

Many tree farms offer sleigh rides, hot chocolate and visits with Santa at their sites.

Other Things to Visit in the Area

There are lots of other attractions in the area of the Rocks Estate.  One of our favorites is Santa's Village in Jefferson.  This themed amusement park is all about the big guy in the red suit.  See Santa's reindeers, enjoy family orientated shows, ride the ferris wheel or other thrilling rides and enjoy the shopping.  You can even write to Santa before your visit to give him a heads-up that you are coming.  Dress warmly as you will be outside a lot of the time here.

Another fun activity is to go snow tubing.  There are many places in New Hampshire where you can try this activity.  We like the area in Northern New Hampshire at Bretton Woods.  For just $10 you can spend a day zipping down the tubing slope.  See other places to snow tube in New Hampshire here.

Getting in the winter spirit has never been more fun.
