Are you thinking about things to do in Milford, NH?  Milford is a little hidden gem in New Hampshire, close to Nashua, Amherst, Bedford and Manchester. It is located along the Souhegan River. Milford was once the home of numerous granite quarries giving it the nick name “The Granite Town in the Granite State”.  Its close proximity to Route 101 and 101A make it the ideal location for commuters to Manchester, Massachusetts and Western New Hampshire.  There are lots of great activities to take advantage of here.

The Milford community revolves around the “Milford Oval” which is actually shaped like a triangle and not like an oval at all. However, a long time ago it was an oval and over the years the name has stuck.  It is truly the heart of the community and in the summer months you will find live music playing from the Pillsbury Bandstand. Craft fairs and Farmers markets take place in the fall.

Two of the unique Festivals that are very popular are the Pumpkin Festival in October, with pumpkin carving, largest pumpkin contests, music, food and more.

Then there is the Winter Festival in January, with ice skating, hot chocolate, music, contests and winter fun activities.

Looking for some amazing restaurants? Look no farther.   Milford has something for all your taste bud needs. Craving Italian? Choose The Pasta Loft or Giorgio’s. Want Mexican?  Try Amigos Mexican Cantina. If you are looking for that old diner feel there is always the classic Red Arrow Diner that is fabulous.

There are so many fun things to do in and around Milford too.   Check out the Hampshire Dome which is a giant indoor sports arena.  If Golf is your sport the Amherst Country Club is only minutes away. Maybe just taking a leisurely walk around one of Milford’s public parks is something you would enjoy, take a stroll around Emerson’s Park, Kaley Park or Meadowbrook Park.

For only $25 per car, you can watch a double feature of the latest movies as the sun goes down. As it is one of only a few drive-in movie theaters remaining, definitely don’t miss out on this trip back down memory lane.
