Once you are in Merrimack though, there is plenty to do to keep you and your family busy!
Here are some of our favorite things to do in Merrimack
Shop till You Drop:
If you are in the mood to go shopping, you have lots of choices at the Merrimack Premium Outlets. With over 100 outlet stores, including Nike, Banana Republic, Saks Fifth Avenue off Fifth, Reebok and 75 others, you are likely to find whatever it is you’re looking for at the Outlets. It is also an open air mall, so it is a great way to enjoy the fresh New Hampshire air while you get the best deals on your shopping days.
Merrimack is also home to one of the Anheuser-Busch Breweries. If you have ever been curious to learn how your favorite beers are made, they offer complementary tours daily. You can even go more in-depth into the beer making process through their “Brew master” tours. No visit to the Brewery is complete without a stroll over to the Clydesdale’s Hamlet. You will be amazed at the beauty and sheer size of these beautiful horses. You will get to greet “Brewer” the resident Dalmatian at the Hamlet too. Craft Beer fans also love a visit to the Able Ebienezer craft brewery. This veteran owned spot produces excellent red ales, a smoked IPA that is worth the trip alone and a distinct offering of seasonal beers too. Take a tour and find out how the owners started with a stainless steel pot and a hot plate in their garage.
Festivals and Events:
You also don’t want to miss out on the annual Rock’N Ribfest which is held annually on the Anheuser-Busch grounds. All the best barbeques from across the country gather for a chance to win the New Hampshire Barbeque Championship. Enjoy live bands and events, plus great barbeque! Enjoy festivities sponsored by the town at various points in the year too. The annual 4th of July parade, road race, concert and fireworks are fantastic.
Speaking of great food and drink, Merrimack has no shortage of places to grab a bite to eat and a beer! If Steaks are on your mind, Buckley’s Great Steaks is the place to go! Looking for classic American food? Then the Homestead Tavern is worth a visit. You can’t miss the Lobster Boat which literally has a boat sticking out of the front of it, but you wouldn’t want to miss the seafood and lobster dinners and lunches that are served inside.
