Grab the thermometer-because we’ve caught spring fever! Spring is the perfect season for outdoor picnics, walks in the park, and ice cream, lots and lots of ice cream. What’s our favorite part about spring? That’s a no-brainer- opportunities to spend time with that special-someone! We’ve compiled a list of “budget-friendly-yet- still-romantic” spring date ideas.
Visit a Carnival on Your Spring Date
Carnivals are an oh-so-cute way to spend time with your sweetie this spring. Not only are carnivals outside and tons of fun, but just think about how romantic it is when your partner wins you one of those big stuffed animals, or offers you a bite of cotton candy. A perfect spring date idea!
Have a Picnic
Spend some time together this spring by grabbing a large blanket, packing a lunch basket and finding the nearest park to enjoy it in. A spring date idea that never gets old is to bring the lunch in a wicker basket. Spread out a blanket and enjoy your food in the sunshine.
Go Mini Golfing or to the Driving Range- A Great Spring Date Idea
Min-Golf is a great spring date idea. It’s not only a fun outdoor activity but its a game that is fun and easy to do. Yes, this will most likely lead to the classic “let me show you how to swing that club” move. Lots of mini golf courses also offer Go-Carts or Bumper Boats.
Go out for Ice Cream
You can never go wrong with ice cream. It’s a sweet treat that is the perfect spring date idea. What is your favorite flavor? Maybe your date will match your preference?
Play Games at an Arcade
There’s nothing wrong with a little healthy competition! We love the arcades at Hampton Beach or in Laconia. Arcades can be pricey so spend some time just looking around and watching others have fun too. Talk about your favorite arcade games and learn about your each others likes and preferences.
Watch a Baseball Game
A spring date idea might include a trip to the ballpark. Grab some lawn chairs or a seat on the bleachers and watch your local baseball team take on their opponent. Tickets to a Fisher Cats Game are inexpensive and there are many fun things to do in the ballpark. We love the Sam Adams Bar for a pre-game drink.
Catch a Movie at the Drive-In
Believe it or not, there are still Drive-In Theatres in the area! Instead of seeing a movie in theatres, catch one at the Drive-In. It’s a wonderful spring date idea. In Manchester there are nights at Veteran’s Park to watch a movie under the stars too. The city sets up a screen and offers “Free Movies in the Park” nights. The titles are family friendly and include some older favorites as well as some newer movie titles.
Go to a Zoo or Farm
The Charmingfare Farm in Candia is a wonderful place to visit. There are zoo animals to see, horse rides and even a farm store. Just in case you’re ever quizzed on what your partner’s favorite animal is you will now have an idea of how to answer the question.
Adventure Over to a Theme Park for a Date Night
Theme parks are the perfect combination of an arcade, a carnival and an ice cream stand. Though they may be a little more expensive, splurging on a theme park date is worth it! We love Canobie Lake Park in Salem NH. The rides and attractions are super fun and exciting. There are nights each week when fireworks shows are on display. That makes for a romantic spring date idea!
Visit a Lake or Ocean
It’s not quite summer yet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t spend time by the water. A spring date idea might include a drive to the ocean. Pick a warm day and go paddle boarding, jet skiing, water tubing, or even just take a walk along the sand. There are plenty of places to grab a bite or an ice cream there too. Another choice might be to visit the lakes region of New Hampshire. There are quiet beaches and places to paddleboard or swim.
Go Roller Skating on your Spring Date
Roller skating is a super outside activity that doesn’t cost a lot of money. Dust off those old roller blades for a fun day! If you don’t want to skate outside or don’t have skates- many roller skating rinks offer public skating along with food and music. It’s fun!
Stop at a Pub- Dating Makes you Thirsty!
All that Roller Skating, mini-golfing and arcade visits might make you thirsty. We are lucky to have many great pubs and breweries in the area. We love To Share Brewery on Union Street in Manchester. Catch live music at a brewery, pub or café and chat over drinks and an appetizer. It’s all a great way to get to know your date better.
Go on a Bike Ride
Couples that exercise together stay together! Research local bike trails and take a ride together. It’s a fun way to exercise and have a date!
