Red Oak Apartments Celebrate 40 Years in Business!

Red Oak Apartment Homes began in 1984 with the single vision of providing quality, well maintained apartment homes to our residents. Principal owner, Ron Dupont began this vision with the purchase of a 3-family building in Hudson New Hampshire in January of 1984.

Ron and his wife Gerry were on site cleaning, vacuuming, mowing the lawn, washing windows, painting and renting the apartments when they were open. Their passion for always putting the resident first has shown through all their efforts. They quickly began to see that this passion could lead to bigger opportunities.

Ron’s next purchase was several duplex buildings in Milford, New Hampshire. Again, the passion for excellence was ever present. Improvements were made to the siding, the landscaping and interiors of these apartment homes. Later that year, Ron purchased 84 apartments in various locations in downtown Manchester and on the West side of the city. These properties needed a lot a work and with a skilled maintenance crew the transformation of these apartments and neighborhoods began.

Growing the Business

Over the next years, Ron grew Red Oak to include a wider variety of properties. Our goal to provide an apartment for everyone and every lifestyle was coming to reality.  The Opera Block Apartments, Sunset Ridge Apartments and Eastern Trails Apartments in Milford were part of this growth phase.  Next came the addition of the Historic St George Apartments, Eagles Landing Apartments, Landmark Apartments in Derry and Park View Apartments.  The vision to continually improve all these properties was always at the top of mind.  The Red Oak team never wavered on improvements to the properties that would make the rental experience better for our residents.  Improvements were made that would save our residents’ money.  For example adding insulation, improving heating and A/C systems and new roofs with high value insulation ratings are just a few examples of this thinking.

A commitment to Hanover Street has been central to Red Oak’s business plan over the years.  The Opera Block was just the beginning.  The Daily Mirror Building has now become Red Oak’s Coworking Offices. The iconic 875 Elm Street building houses 90 luxury apartments and the Parking Garage with the famous “Greetings from Manchester” mural is a center piece of the street.   We are pleased to say that in the summer of 2024- there will be 40 new apartments that will open at the Odd Fellows Apartment Building at 83 Hanover Street.

Adding Newly Built and New Construction Projects to the Red Oak Story

Adding newly built properties was another goal that Ron had.  The property at Sentinel Court- Redstone Apartments was just 3 years old when he purchased it.  It now brought a new kind of apartment product into our offerings for residents.

I guess the new property bug was a good one, as Red Oak then embarked on building a new apartment community in Milford, New Hampshire.  The Ridge at Eastern Trails was the first new apartment construction project in Milford in decades.  Red Oak wanted to offer a new experience and added storage, car ports, high energy-rated appliances and building techniques at this very convenient location.

This past year witnessed our most ambitious building project to date.  Indeed, the addition of our new corporate headquarters building and 90 new high-tech apartments was fulfilled at Red Oak at 409 Elm Street.  Robotic studios, solar powered common areas, electric vehicle charging, keyless entry systems and an amazing lobby are features that no other apartment community can offer in the state.  Also, the location offers a new lifestyle concept for Coworking Office and Suite Space.

Our Residents Rely on Our Many Amenities

Amenities have always been important to us.  Certainly Pet Friendly living has always been central to our beliefs.  Welcoming dogs at many properties has been in the forefront in our offerings.  Cats are welcome at 100% of our apartments.  Offering swimming pools, basketball courts, walking trails, dog parks, playgrounds, fitness centers, bike storage, pet washing facilities, manicured grounds and storage facilities are other ways we show our commitment to our residents.  As always, residents have the choice of the type of property and amenities that appeal to them.  Our wide variety of styles, locations and amenities makes this easy for them to do.  We offer robotic studios, small and large studios, one, two, three and four bedroom apartment homes.  Condominiums and single family homes are also choices that make our offerings the most inclusive in New Hampshire.
