We have a created a short list of things that might interest you and your family and friends. Use our Facebook page to let us know if you have a favorite fall foliage tradition.
We believe that Fall Foliage in New Hampshire is Picture Perfect.
Walking trails to enjoy the NH Foliage
Fall is the time to be outdoors. Enjoy nature in your own Red Oak backyard or go on one of the many walking trails in the area. Many are of them are located close to our properties.
Our property in Milford is called Milford Trails because we have over 40 acres of beautiful trails for you and your pets to enjoy the great fall foliage in New Hampshire. There are a ton of great pet friendly trails in New Hampshire including the Rockingham Recreational Trail in Manchester, the Nashua Heritage Trail, the Derry Bike Trail, the East Pond Trail in Lincoln, and the Winnipesauke River Trail in Tilton.
Great fall foliage road trips in NH
Not interested in a hike? Nothing is better than taking in a beautiful scenic ride around the state during this time of the year. We can recommend the Kancamagus Scenic Byway from Lincoln to Woodstock, Route 9 from Concord to Keene, Route 302 in Bretton Woods and the White Mountain Trail. Take the whole day and bring a picnic and a camera. There will be lots of spots to pull over and stop along the way or to do some shopping.
Another top destination is a trip to The Mount Washington Cog Railway in Bretton Woods. This train ride is a one of a kind experience where you ride to the top of Mount Washington, NH’s highest peak. Don’t let the steep grades and coal engine fool you, this is lots of fun! Other Foliage Train rides to check out include the Conway Scenic Railroad in North Conway and the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad in Meredith. Both provide a train ride with old fashion charm and entertainment and take you around northern NH and the lakes region. Both excursions provide different dining arrangements along with your trip.
It’s hard to tell when fall foliage will be at its peak, so you can use a NH Foliage Tracker to keep track of the best days to go out on your adventure and enjoy the scenery!
