Milford is a quaint New Hampshire town that is located just to the west of Amherst and Manchester. It is nestled on the Souhegan River and hosts many growing industries, businesses and cultural venues. Milford offers easy access to Nashua, Wilton, Bedford, Manchester and Townsend MA as it is at the intersection of Routes 101 and 101A and Rte 13. Conveniently located just an hour from Boston, the seacoast and the tourist-friendly Lakes Region, Milford is a great place to live, work and play.
The centerpiece for Milford is the beautiful town center which is called the “Oval.” It boasts a pretty park with gazebo, access to the Souhegan River and has unlimited opportunities for shopping and dining. The town center is rooted in history, as mill buildings still stand along the river. The area was once a center for shoe factories, granite quarries and farming. Today there are arts and community theatre venues in some of the mills. The Souhegan Valley YMCA offers lots of family programming and the Milford Parks and Recreation Dept has seasonal activities for all ages. Today manufacturing is the major employer in the town with high tech plants like Hitchner Manufacturing, Hendrix Wire and Cable and Citronics in the town. Residents take advantage of great school systems, as well as a thriving economic climate.
